THE GUILD OF COLON HYDROTHERAPISTS

Qualified Colon Hydrotherapists may join the Guild if they meet the following criteria,
That they hold a pass certificate from a U.K. Colon Hydrotherapy teaching college which itself has passed a guild audit to ensure it complies with the guild document;
'Required Standards for Colonic Hydrotherapy Teaching Colleges'.
That their clinic complies with standards set by the guild in it's;
CLINIC & TREATMENT ROOM FACILITIES - A GOOD PRACTICE GUIDE,
and complies with any Local Authority and water board requirements.
The therapist must be acceptable to the management committee.
There are several colleges in the U.K. but only one has applied for and passed a guild audit. This is; The British College of Colon Hydrotherapy. www.the-british-college.com
None of the other U.K. colleges have applied for a guild audit, possibly due to 'Political Obstinacy', or a lack of confidence that they could meet all the guild standards.
The Guild does not wish to be obstructive or to exclude genuine therapists from membership over issues that have been created by other groups. Therefore we have devised a system of assessments for interested therapists who have trained at non-Guild Audited schools.
Therapists who have trained at U.K. colleges not recognised by the Guild, but hold verifiable certificates, may be admitted to membership on the successful completion of a skills assessment day at a Guild designated college or clinic. This will comprise a theory test paper of one hour's duration, and a practical demonstration by the therapist of their skills in treatment administration. The practical assessment will cover, client handling skills, case history taking and determining the suitability of a client for the proposed treatment, the administration of a treatment, the aftercare of the client and treatment room sterilisation routines.
The guild will charge a fee for this assessment day and will issue to successful therapists a certificate of competence, which will be recognised by the Guild.
Details of these assessment days may be obtained from the Guild Administrative Department.
SPECIAL NOTE:-
The Guild of Colon Hydrotherapists Ltd does not accept graduates of any
U.K. based I.-A.C.T. colonic hydrotherapy courses for membership since
they are not taught to our syllabus or to our standards.
Graduates of these courses may only be eligible to apply for membership
if they fulfil the GUILD’S pre-requisites for training, and undertake
some further study and pass the GUILD’S practitioner assessment examinations.
We do not accept into membership any students taught on self-administered
open systems (e.g. Libbe, Jimmy-John), since these are not therapeutic
to the same level as therapist administered colonic hydrotherapy and we
have safety concerns over these systems.
